  • O'Kelly: 2...a6. Black waits and hopes White plays a normal Open Sicilian where ...a6 is useful.
  • The recommended test. Treat it like an Alapin, because 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 is comfortable for Black.
  • A Maroczy approach. ...a6 is not the most useful extra move against the bind.
