Endgames Vault
The same trainer, now for the basic mates and the classic rook endings. Learn the technique, then convert it without help.
The Endgames Vault runs on the trainer you already know: browse the technique, learn the method, then play it back from a blank board under pressure. Muscle memory does not care whether it is an opening or an endgame.
It starts with the two basic mates - king and rook versus king, and king and queen versus king - both free to everyone. From there it goes through the Lucena and Philidor positions, the second-rank fortress, and the usual rook-versus-pawn endings that decide real games.
Each endgame is broken into the exact pattern you need to recognise: the opposition, key squares, the Tarrasch rule, the Philidor position. Practice mode strips away everything except the position, so you are forced to find the technique, not remember a move number.
Each endgame tracks your recall separately, so you can see at a glance which technique is solid and which still catches you out. The same per-line progress bar as the openings.
No. The king-and-rook and king-and-queen mates are free to everyone, guests included. The rest of the vault needs a paid plan.
That is the whole point of Practice and Time trial. Learning the technique is step one; recovering it when the clock is running is step two, and it is trained separately.
